Signature Event | 72-Player Field | No Cut | Standard DK Scoring

Event Overview

The 2026 Truist Championship returns to Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina after a one-year stint at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. This PGA Tour Signature Event features a 72-player field competing for a $20 million purse, with the winner taking home $3.6 million and 700 FedExCup points. As a Signature Event, there is no cut – all 72 players will play all four rounds barring withdrawal or disqualification.

Defending champion Sepp Straka won the 2025 edition by two strokes over Shane Lowry and Justin Thomas at 16-under par at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. The field this week is headlined by World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, making his first start since winning his second consecutive Masters title at Augusta National. McIlroy has won at Quail Hollow four times in his career, most recently in 2024 by five strokes over Xander Schauffele. Eight of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Ranking are in the field, including Matt Fitzpatrick (No. 3), Cameron Young (No. 4), Justin Rose (No. 5), Tommy Fleetwood (No. 7), and Xander Schauffele (No. 9). Notably absent is World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is resting ahead of next week’s PGA Championship at Aronimink.

DFS Dashboard ran simulations using the two-stage bimodal mixture model to generate the projections, probabilities, and ownership estimates that power this analysis. This week’s simulation data feeds directly into our new Interactive Lineup Builder, described below.

The Course

Quail Hollow Club plays as a par 71 at approximately 7,583 yards, making it one of the longer tracks on the PGA Tour schedule. Originally designed by George Cobb in 1961 on what was once the largest dairy farm in North Carolina, the course has been reshaped multiple times. Arnold Palmer made modifications in 1986, and Tom Fazio undertook major renovations in 1997, 2003, and again from 2014-2016 in preparation for the 2017 PGA Championship. The front nine was further redesigned before the 2025 PGA Championship won by Scottie Scheffler. The course is a demanding parkland layout featuring tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, undulating Bermudagrass greens, and significant elevation changes throughout.

The defining feature is the iconic Green Mile – the treacherous three-hole closing stretch of 16-17-18 that features water hazards, tight fairways, and elevated green complexes. The par-4 16th plays along a lake, the par-3 17th is a downhill shot over water to a narrow green, and the par-4 18th demands precision on both the drive and approach. Success at Quail Hollow requires a well-rounded game: distance off the tee to manage the long par 4s, precise long-iron play, and strong putting on the slick, contoured greens. Historically, the best ball-strikers and longest drivers have dominated here. Course history is meaningful – McIlroy has won four times and Schauffele has finished runner-up the last two times the Truist was held at this venue.

Introducing the Interactive DFS Lineup Builder

This week, alongside the traditional written analysis, DFS Dashboard is releasing an Interactive DFS Lineup Builder – a standalone HTML tool that puts every simulation data point at your fingertips and lets you construct DraftKings lineups in real time. The tool ships as a single file you can open in any browser. No internet connection required, no account needed, no data leaves your device.

How the Tool Works

The dashboard has two tabs. The Tier Explorer tab is your research hub. Every player on the slate is organized into probability-based tiers, each constructed so that the combined likelihood of at least one player in the tier hitting 12X PTS/$ reaches approximately 70%. Premium players ($8,300 and above) have their own tier. You can filter by any tier using the sticky navigation buttons at the top, search by player name, and sort by salary, 12X probability, projected points, or ownership. Click the + Add button on any player card to add them to your lineup.

The My Lineup tab displays your constructed roster with a full analytics dashboard. Here you will see each selected player with their salary, projections, wave assignment, and multiplier probabilities. The summary panel calculates total projected points, combined ownership percentage, average 12X probability, roster slot count, the number of players above 10% ownership, the AM/PM wave split, and the probability that all six players simultaneously hit 10X salary value.

Sticky Salary Tracker

The salary bar is pinned to the top of the screen at all times, along with the tab selector and tier navigation. As you add players, the bar fills in real time showing total salary used out of the $50,000 DraftKings cap. It also displays the average salary per remaining player – your remaining budget divided by your open roster slots. This metric tells you at a glance which salary tiers are still within reach.

Tier Highlighting

As you draft players, the tier buttons in the sticky navigation turn green to indicate which tiers already have a selection. This visual cue makes it easy to enforce the recommended GPP construction method of selecting one player from each of four distinct tiers. If you see four green tier buttons plus your premium anchors, you know your lineup is structurally diversified across salary bands.

Key Lineup Metrics Explained

Players >10% Owned counts the number of rostered players with projected ownership above 10%. In GPP tournaments, a lineup with four or more high-ownership players will be duplicated frequently across the field, reducing your payout equity even when the lineup scores well. Aim for two or fewer high-ownership players in GPP builds. In cash games, this number should be high.

AM/PM Wave Split shows how many of your players are in the morning versus afternoon tee times. A balanced split provides a natural hedge against wave-specific weather advantages. If Thursday’s forecast calls for calm mornings and afternoon wind, you may deliberately tilt toward AM exposure.

P(All Players Hit 10X Salary) is the joint probability that every player in your lineup returns at least 10 times their salary-implied fantasy point value. The calculation multiplies each player’s individual 10X probability together. This number will be small – typically between 0.01% and 1% – but it serves as a composite ceiling indicator. A lineup with a higher all-10X probability has a better chance of producing the kind of across-the-board smash performance that wins large-field GPP tournaments.

Export and Usage

Once all six roster slots are filled within the $50,000 salary cap, the Export CSV button activates. Clicking it downloads a CSV file with your full lineup, individual player salaries, projections, and totals. You can build multiple lineups by clearing and rebuilding, exporting each one separately. The tool runs entirely in your browser with no server calls, so your lineup constructions remain completely private.
